Store Stock Set of Game Cubes, Bobber and Kibs, 1860-1900 East Germany, S693

Type: This is an antique Bennington cube box found in Lauscha Germany at the old porcelain marble factory. This is a very uncommonly found box which is a store stock of cubes that were used in a game called five stones, most likely a resupply set for Bobber and Kibs game. You would use the 4 cubes like jacks and one marble, (the 5th stone being a China). Using the cubes and a China you would play a game similar to jacks. You will notice that the cube colors are the same as the Bennington marbles found at the same factory. The box is also original and dates to the late 1860-1900 and is in fantastic condition. The game was most popular in the UK where the cubes are occasionally found in dig sites. There are not box sets that I can find anywhere online. I have included a picture from the internet of an old box cover from the national archives. I have also included a picture for reference only of a boxed game with 4 cubes and China, (not included in listing). Again, these last two pictures are for reference only. Size: 6 by 3 Inches Condition: Mint
