DAS Equinox Marble Collector Series: “Splendor” Family

I try to rotate my marbles to give the viewer a complete picture of the 360 degrees sphere. Note: this marble is slightly smaller than the average JABO marble that rolls off the 3/4″ machine. It is much bigger than a peewee of course, but it is my policy to disclose anything that might surprise the dear reader.

JABO Pastel MarbleGold Lutz & Flames ShooterMINT -Run Date:10/20/10 This is an exceptional specimen of the Pastel marble run created by Dave and his team of glass experts during that famous period of time in 2010. The extraordinary marble runs completed by the team at JABO was very prolific during this year. It is destined to become one of the most sought after production runs of JABO history (other than Joker 1 in 2008). The glass colors used in this Pastel run are what give these marbles their beautiful designs. This marble in particular has one of the most awesome blues that I have seen in any run. The texture of the bright blue glass look like ocean waves splashing against rocks in a beautiful spray pattern. There are also some nice smoky chestnut and almond colored fine flames for nice contrast. There is a very large amount of gold lutz dusting on this marble that are just amazing in hand. If sunlight or flashlight hits this marble, then it immediately lights up with huge sparkles…really outstanding example in this case. I use a Canon Rebel DSLR camera with built-in flash for my pictures. I try to rotate my marbles and provide high resolution pictures with my DSLR camera and flash. This allows the viewer to see all angles and all detail in the best light possible. This marble was made on the 3/4″ machine and measures a huge shooter-sized 0.747″ in diameter. Note: the downgrade from mint is due to one hit mark as shown in the last photo. To clarify this a bit, I did not see this small defect with my naked eyes because the gold dusting sparkles are so ubiquitous. Only after magnification and flash did this pop up into my field of view. I don’t think it distracts much from this beautiful marble, but please be aware that it is indeed present.
